Fire Protection Engineering

Our engineers are experienced in the production of fire protection engineering designs, using the project fire and life safety report as a basis.

Within the MENA region our experience includes the design of wet fire protection systems serving stadia, large scale healthcare, food production, storage facilities and infrastructure. We have primarily worked with the NFPA standards, UAE (United Arab Emirates) Fire Code, Saudi Building Code Fire Protection Requirements (SBC 801) and QCDD (Qatar Civil Defense Department) Fire Safety Guidance/Fire Safety Standards.

Within the UK market, we limit our input to the production of space planning and design development drawings. In our opinion design development in excess of these stages requires a certified fire protection company in order to meet UK Law. Our engineers are experienced in meeting the requirements of the Building Regulations and BS 5306, for these early stages of design.

Our expertise allows us to identify areas within the project which may require additional protection. This can include areas requiring deluge, pre-action, exposure protection, void protection, dry pipes, foam monitors, gas suppression or passive protection.

The design of gas suppression systems is primarily driven by the suppression agent, AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction), hazard and assets to be protected. We are able to provide early stage space planning and design to enable these packages to be procured. Often, the use of gas suppression can require accommodation within the architecture and on occasions structure this is information that we are able to provide at an early stage in the project avoiding abortive works at a later stage.
